He gets separated from his team and is trying to find them. There's some OC's, but they're there to further the story, not to be some kind of silly self-insert. Although redhead 12-year-old survivors with hunting rifles can be adorable, I guess. No slash, no pairings, no friendly infected, no infected OC's. Just straight-up survivalism, friendship, and drama. Picture related; it's art of Nick as he is during the fic. (cute face, huh?)
I just started reading this (I'm only on chapter 4), but I really like it so far. Nick's really in character I think and I'm even a little emotional over the couple already. Great job, man.

This fic is the first that's inspired me to write in a long time. It's also the first I lost sleep over, haha; though that's not a bad thing or anything, it just means I liked it enough to not want to stop reading until 5am. I'd have left reviews but I am a shy bunny about that sort of thing nowadays... However, I'd just like to say. You've done a wonderful thing here. Don't ever stop.
