SCHAFER WOULD DO PSYCHONAUTS 2 IF THEY FIND A PUBLISHER

http://www.1up.com/news/psychonauts-2-possible-for-right-publisher

Valve needs to publish this. Give the people TF2 items when they preorder and it's going to sell like mad. I just hope a second game would be a full thing and not just a small game.

Also, Psychonauts general thread. DISCUSS.

I love this fucking game.

I bought the game after watching a review Yahtzee did of it.
I have never regretted the decision even once.
Black Velvetopia is the best level ever.

I like Black Velvetopia too, but if I stay there too long the neon gives me a headache, and I wish it didn't.

Personally I like Raz, Sasha and Raz' dad, which I swear he had a name but I dunno what it is- maybe I just saw one in a fanfiction long ago and my memory is jumbling things up.

Oof, favorite characters ... I'd say Raz, Cruller, Milla, Boyd and Coach Oleander. But really, EVERYONE is hilarious and delightful.

All levels are so nice and creative, but if I had to pick any favorites they'd be Black Velvetopia, Sasha's mind cube and THE GODDAMN MILKMAN

I'm the milkman. My milk is delicious

The best part for me is the edgar, fred and the circus meat (i'm italian, i don't speak good)

but the second secret of milla + depressive zone is awesome too

Augustus Aquato. It's on the DoubleFine wiki.

I still haven't beaten the damn thing.

I've been playing it at HunterVar's house. We're in the Meat Circus. Shit is hard and I suck at platformers enough as is.

Oh, I'm pretty trained at plattformers and I had some trouble at the meat circus too. Not really problems, mind you, but it was a challenge. Keep going, Cat!

if you are too stuck on one part, there's some cheats out there for invincibility

too lazy to look em up ATM

I still don't get that memory reel you find in the brain tumbler experiment.

if you're talking about the one with the brain and the fish and amusement park, it's a vague summarization of the game; you notice it hatches from an egg, just as you broke one, it travels around, meets a fish (Linda the lungfish) travels across the water and reaches an amusement park (meat circus.)

As for the laser at the end, I have no idea.

To quote TVtropes:

First you have to realize that's not a chicken, it's a brain (It even looks like a brain sideways). So, a brain hatches from an egg (a child realizes he/she is psychic), goes for a walk in the sun (goes to Whispering Rocks), finds a lake (Lake Oblongata, obviously), rides on a fish (gets kidnapped by Lynda of Oblongata), goes to a carnival (the insane asylum), plays in the teacups (gets put in a tank), and kills people with lasers (this part should be obvious). So it's really Oleander's plan in a very encoded form, which makes sense because you are actually in his mind and he is a strong enough psychic to encode it like that. It's still one hell of a Mind Screw, though.

Holy balls do I love this game.
My favorite character would have to be Boyd. God bless you, you crazy motherhubbard.

Also, cannot unsee: the Milkman doesn't have Boyd's chinswirl.

I need to find a copy of this and Beyond Good and Evil.

I know they're on Steam, but I use a Mac and I'd rather play them on PS2 anyways.

Also I have PSL for Sasha Nein what is this. Especially the way LeftRight draws him.

The PS2 version of Psychonauts is pretty terrible. Somewhere in the process of porting it, the graphics and FPS took a big hit. If you really want to play it on console, go with the Xbox version. I used to have the PS2 version, and the game just runs so much better on... well, pretty much everything else it was released for.

The PS2 version of Beyond Good and Evil is pretty good, though.

I never really noticed that, Tbh. Seems pretty smooth and fine to me.

I've...never had an XBox, either.

I always thought the PS2 was the original version.

It was originally going to be an Xbox exclusive before Microsoft decided that they didn't want to publish it.

Fun factoid - I have played both, and I prefer the PS2 version. Yes, it's not as pretty, and the controls didn't map well due to the loss of two essential buttons. But the final level was far less of freaking headache to complete, and the story and the characters were ported over perfectly. I can forgive lesser graphics since the controls worked, if not gracefully.

OH MY GOD WHY DID I NEVER PLAY THIS GAME BEFORE HOLY SHIT

i like sasha.
