Handing in my notice... (7)

1 .

Dear Sir/Madam

I write to you to inform you of my concerns working here at Builders League United, and of my work in the Mercenary and R&D departments. Many of these problems have been small ones, but during my long years of service, I have noticed many changes that need to be sorted out.

My first complaint is that of respect among myself and my fellow workers. I have found a vast gorge has formed between us, and in the process, I have noticed a huge drop in morale and respect, not only between me and my team, but between the team and the company as a whole. Morale is on a lower level than ever, with a vast amount of victories against us, tension is running high and understandably, we are taking out our frustration on each other. In the past several weeks, I have had to deal with insults from all 8 other employees of BLU, some of them harmless, others closing in on death threats. Our Espionage Agent and our Soldier in particular have thrown some rather gut-wrenching insults in my direction. Even our Field Surgeon and Pyrotechnics Expert have been brought down by our recent losses.

On the note of respect, I continue on to highlight the importance of fair pay between ALL employees of BLU. My job here is at the very least, slightly risky, and I do admit that it pays well, but when inquiring the Explosives Expert on his work, he mentioned his pay, and I discovered that it was considerably higher than my own. After more research, I discovered that not only was I being paid less than an employee on the same level as oneself, I was not the only one in this position, as our three Support workers were all being paid less than I was. I understand that their pay is not of my concern, but this is a touchy subject that does require fixing.

However, more importantly than wages, I find my supply of new tools to carry out my work has diminished almost entirely. I understand that it does take time to create these tools, to balance them out and make sure that they are safe for us to use, but my patience is beginning to wear thin. I also understand that there are inner workings of the company and of external companies that work with our department and require a large chain of security and economical measures to be able to produce our tools correctly, but even bureaucracy is a bad excuse now.

The last new tool I received was in December 1970. Previously, during your so-called Class Updates, I had to wait until last to receive any new tools of any kind. In the meantime, the other employees of this department had received far more tools, many of which did not help me in any way. Not long ago, Soldier received two new weapons that not only made my line of work much more difficult, but also started to impede in the work of both our Pyrotechnics Expert and our Espionage Agent. It is not so much that I did not get a tool which looks like it was specially designed for me, but that the Soldier got yet another tool that he does not need.

All these troubles have led me down a slippery slope, making my work that much harder and destroying the relationships between us. And not only that, but it has destroyed my trust in this company and in our smaller sub-companies. Problems that should have been fixed a long time ago remain unsolved, and our friendship has been severed.

In conclusion to all this, I have decided to hand in my notice for resignation, and will proceed to find another way of life, free from the restraints of company rules, politics, subsidiaries and bureaucracy.

Thank you very much for the many years of hardship and experience. It had brought some interesting times and I have met some interesting people. I wish you a strong future, one of which I will no longer be part off. I also wish my team remains the strong, coordinated group that it is, even with my absence.

Yours sincerly,

Dell Conagher
