Thank you! In general, the looser the prompt, the more freedom I have to play around with the characters and make up a setting and some background story for them, and I have a lot of fun doing that. My favourite prompts are the short ones, 'I want these characters together, make it happen', although I'll take the more specific ones too for the challenge.

Hi guys, just poking my head in to apologise for keeping you all waiting - I've only just returned home from a month-long clinical rotation at a backwater hospital somewhere on a desolate windswept coastline. Sadly, what I'd thought would be a cushy internship didn't leave me much time to write, since the resident physician went eel-fishing and left me fending for myself in the only ER within 200 miles. Fun times were had. Sleep was not. The internet is a happy dream where charts are still handwritten and the nurses prefixed with a 'sister'.

Still, I learnt many useful things (not least of all from the night-nurses, so cheerfully sadistic it'd make Medic proud), some of which might be turning up in future fics. Now's the time for all those medical kink prompts, guys, just saying.

Alright, all you tech-savvy people, I need some help here. My stationary computer at home died (thank god I do regular backups of everything I write!) and for some reason I can't use the chan's preview function on my laptop - which I need to do, because copy-pasting text from MS Word messes up some of the symbols, in that " becomes “, ' becomes ‘ and - becomes –. So I preview everything I write and delete/retype all the wonky symbols, except I can't now, neither in IE or Firefox. What's going on with that?

Also, when I could use the preview function on my stationary computer, it'd only let me preview about 7 lines at a time; any more than that and I get an error message. With the next story being +7,000 words (lol drabble fail!) that's a lot of copy-pasting!

And yes, I have fic for you when I get this working, so please help.

*Coughs.* Actually, I’m still here. Sorry for lying low for a while; I did suffer some extremely annoying computer problems, and then real life caught up with me in form of a board exam that was kind of a big deal and took up all of my time over the summer, and then I started working 14-hour night shifts that didn’t leave much room for inspiration and creativity.

However, I am now beginning to settle into this new rhythm and finding time for things other than working and sleeping and drinking copious amounts of coffee, which means that I’ve started writing again. I should have something nice for you really, really soon.

And since I’ve had a long time to plot and plan, I pretty much have notes and WIPs on everything in this thread and more. If you’ve sent me a prompt here, it will be filled. I hope that makes up for my long absence.

Oh, and if you think I’m too slow and would like to take a Disciplinary Action to my muse (she'd probably enjoy that, though), I recently made an account on Fumblr as writingcyan. Go kick me there if I’m taking too long.

For that second prompt, I would suggest possibly either choosing one of the most classic or the most cracky of the Disney classics. I had a look and couldn't believe how old some of them were! I mean, honestly, Pinocchio came out in 1940? Wow.

I would suggest maybe Alice in Wonderland or Cinderella? Sniper would have a lot of fun with Jungle Book or Bambi, I'm sure..
