"What bothers me the most is Sniper's take on what he's doing, how it's okay to do this to Scout." This. I don't mind rape stories, on the contrary I've loved quite a few of them. It's just fiction, just harmless fantasies. But the thing is, all of these stories were very honest about what they were. They didn't portray rape, only to then go all "oh, but it's ok, it's not REALLY rape!" This story has this paragraph: "Anyways, the RED told himself, the Scout deserved it. Anything so wonderful in form deserved it. The Sniper’s conscience cleared and he allowed himself to push all thoughts away and dive back into the other." Which is very obviously a rapist's pov. There is just no denying that. Whether Scout liked it or not, whether he was in shock or not, the point is that Sniper didn't give a damn about his consent and victim-blamed the shit out of him. "He is attractive so he totally deserves it!" is the same as "she is wearing a miniskirt so she totally deserves it!" Yet people are saying that what Sniper did wasn't so bad, just a bit off, nothing to be upset about... It's messed up. In any case, as already pointed out, "your story is horrible" =/= "you are horrible." You could be the nicest person in the world and that would have nothing to do with your writing.
