In my native language we say to sweep in front of your own door (getting your own problems solved first) before sweeping in front of other’s (getting involved in their mess). It’s good advice in any case. As for the don’t shit my fucks, I thought it might have come from a mangled English proverb that I wasn’t familiar with – I’m kind of glad it didn’t, since I won’t have to memorise yet another nonsensical idiom. I’ve been told that even excellent foreign speakers of English sometimes trip over the idioms, either failing to comprehend the meaning of the English ones or directly translating another from their native language and making no sense, and I really like how your Medic makes this mistake here as well – even if he didn’t use the occasional German word, it’d still mark him as a foreigner and a second- or third-language English speaker. I can relate to that. ;)
