I must join everyone else to say how much I love the Medic. He strikes me as being very much like the one from Meet the Medic, even more so than some of the sadistic ones out there. Plus, I'm pretty much with him on the mad science. I love stories about experiments and strange monsters, that don't involve torture (though I'm sure the initial surgery wasn't pleasant but Spy probably and hopefully wasn't conscious for that.) Who doesn't want to explore fantastical things (especially humanoid beasts) and learn how they operate? Especially if they have an objective and he certainly does! I also like having Sniper's angle on it at the same time because of course the Medic has to treat him as inhuman in order to do some of that. Not even in a mean spirited way. It just requires a little detachment. I have heard of scientists who love animals and do regret injuring them if they must so they sometimes find homes for any excess lab animals, wanting at least some of them to have long, happy lives. I am certain Medic actually has some small fondness for the Spy, especially as he is a matter of triumph, but it's much sweeter seeing Sniper's POV because Sniper can focus on the aspects of how Spy is a person and how he needs love and respect to thrive. Showing both of their interactions is so marvelous and it makes me smile so much. I can't get enough of this story. I only wish we could have more than Tentaspies here but I understand why the rules won't allow for anything else animal in nature. Certainly the octopus is a most exotic and intriguing choice and their intelligence in the wild lends a great deal of ideas fun and amusement so I am generally very happy with the one monster we can have. Also, for anyone else here who enjoys this story, I think you should check out Caddy's if you haven't already read it. There's no mad science but it has a bright, positive tone and I enjoyed it immensely. It's also got Tentaspy and Sniper (and Scout) porn, which is always a plus. Anne, would you consider writing more stories with your Medic here? I love him very much and I'm eager to see more with him when this story is over. If you want a prompt for him, I'd recommend the one in the current request thread about Medic and Engineer engaging in SCIENCE! dirty talk with perhaps more SCIENCE! actual foreplay. Of course, I'd love to see him with anyone or no one at all. I just want to see more of him engaging in mad science! You could write whimsical guro (is that possible?) and I'd gladly read it. Maybe Medic and Demo could go hunting for the Lochness Monster and Medic is disappointed when they can't find it so Demo tries to appease him with SCIENCE! Demo knows chemistry... OOOH! DEMO MEDIC MAD SCIENCE! YES! I must request this in the thread, even if you decide to do it! Hah hah! Demo never gets to join in on the SCIENCE end of things. (:
