I'm not disappointed by the stereotypical couples setup in this so much as by the fact that it's already degenerated into the stereotypical, "effeminate, naiive Scout is menaced by sinister, overpowering Spy and comforted by manly Sniper" schlock that makes up 100% of all fics involving the pairing of these three characters in one form or another. Having Spy incessantly referring to Scout as "lapin" and "petit" and asserting that he "will have him, no matter what" just compounds the creepy unpleasantness of the whole scenario. How old is Scout, again? Because it seems grossly out of character for him to squeal and squirm and be overpowered by a scrawny Frenchman without even putting up much of a fight. Barf.
