Considering Sniper has only been there for eight months, and it isn't mentioned anywhere else that he'd been in the northern hemisphere with RED before then, he'd be more likely to compare it to what winter was in his homeland, in July, which (in a number of places in Australia) gets rained on like hell. Spy, being French, would have less focused 'r's, which would be reflected occasionally in his speech, especially if tired.
I adore your Soldier, and how time outside of battle is really considered a time without battle, though it could do to be outright stated or alluded to early in the text. With even Soldier putting off the duty of asking for the ceasefire, I'd thought that maybe BLU would have had a watchman, perhaps their own sniper, minding the enemy base.

Your Sniper's internal monologue is lovely-- I, being the freak I am, had a stern little voice in the back of my head saying things like that for years. Although it would do for him to make more observations of his surroundings. How far is it to the other end of the field, perhaps he would only have to use iron sights to reach their front door? (500 meters on KAR 98k or similar weapon) Being a marksman by profession, I'd expect him to be making constant notes about wind and weather, especially one being woken up by a fall from his bed to the floor.
You may also want to be thinking of what kind of desert you are using-- some in that region have completely dry heat at all times of the year (save night and rare rains) while others will have you sweating your arse off. He mentions rabbits, but it is the middle of the day, and then later hopes for a good night's sleep, when really, if he wanted hares, he'd have to be out in the fringe of the night.

Enough nitpicking, on my part. Welcome, fellow lurker, and I quite look forward to more of this-- I'd be perfectly willing to beta for you if you'd be so inclined, since I'm quite interested in your writing process.
