40 Opinions on the story are not concrit. Either they write the story well, or they don't. The story can be whatever they chose, we can't change what happens in it if we don't like it, its their story. If they present they story improperly, like by overusing words and if the plot had holes and such, THAT'S what needs concrit. That's like reading a fic about zombies and saying "i dislike that there are zombies in this story, they kill and it makes me uncomfortable. if you removed it this story would be better" Read the story and deal with what happens in it. If the writing gets wonky or if things don't make sense, then that's when you insert criticisms. What >>39 is saying is that people went and assumed what the story was going to be, and when they figured out that it wasn't then they criticized it as if it were bad that it wasn't what they expected. People need to learn how to differentiate opinion and constructive criticism. He's not saying that sharing your opinions on the story are wrong, but just don't try to pass it off as something that would make the story better.
