21 push them face first onto the ground, use BOTH arms to get their arms behind their back, then use a foot to hold their arms down. a foot and an arm also works better. Then a skilled hunter/bushman (sniper) can tie just about any knot one handed. It just takes some dexterity and know-how, that a sniper would probably have to have in the outback. I'm assuming this is how it was done here, although the description IS a bit lacking.
