Parodying the typical Mary-Sue story, the character focusing entirely on her work- and actually, the fact that we don't know much about her is intentional. The readers don't know her, and neither do most of the characters, which makes it absurd that any of them would try to initiate something romantic, which brings us back to the parody angle. As for the section, I promise, it DOES belong here, and in a later chapter, you will see why. Seriously though, Dove. You made my night by understanding everything I was going for.
