1 .

ok, this is part 1 of my 2 part Soldier fic I promised. If people seem to like this one, I'll do another one on a different class.

You weren't used to it and you figured you'd never have to be. Over the past week though, Soldier was pissing you off. Ever since the begining of the week on a musky Monday morning in 2fort. You had just woken up and was still sort of woozy and hazey from sleep, or lack there of. You didn't even hear him coming. The spook snuck up behind you silently and stabbed you swiftly with his butterfly knife in the back. You fell face first in the orange dust and dirt, feeling your warm blood leak downs your back and side onto the ground. It was around five minutes before the respwan system picked you up and set you back up in your base. It enraged you so you went out hunting for the filthy spook. You found him soon enough and slit hit throat with the small dagger you carry in your back pocket. You kicked and jabbed at the lifeless body untill it was picked up by respawn and sent back to it's own damn side of 2Fort. That was back on Monday. It was Saturday and ever since that one day, Soldier was racking on your last nerve. Everyday on the field and even in your own base, he was always next to you. Standing by your right following you damn near everywhere you went. He was like a puppy, sticking next to you. As for why, you had no fucking clue. He just started following you! He was starting to hinder your fighting ability due to how close he was and how much room you needed to operate the crossbow you weilded as a weapon. You had already given him several warnings and had bitched him out so many times, you had lost count. It was all in vain though. Soldier simply wouldn't leave your alone. Now it was Saturday afternoon, some time after 1PM or so. It was basically your break from fighting. Ceasefire had been called late Friday night and lasted untill early Monday morning. You layed sprawled out on the couch in the small entertainment room with your music player in hand. You rocked your head to the sound of the music that flowed through your headphones. Your eyes were closed as you focused on the music alone. That's when you felt it. The end of the couch shifted as someone sat down. The shift wasn't TOO huge so it couldn't have been Heavy or Demoman. Though the shirt was still enough that it couldn't be Scout or Spy. That left five people. Sniper was still in his nest, watching over the territory like a hawk. Medic was healing Engie after a nasty run in with an enemy Spy. Pyro was making some kind of flamebe in the kitchen. So it left ONE person. You popped open on eye to see, you guessed it, Soldier sitting at your feet, arms crossed, helmet low, and a stern frown on his face. Per usual. He wasn't even looking at you. He was staring off into the distance. You rolled your eyes and turned off the player in your hand. You pulled off the headphones and knocked on Soldier's helmet to get his attention. His head turned stiffly and he looked at you, as well as he could with that freaking bowl on his head. You cross your arms over your chest and stand up off the couch. He stood with you. You could feel a small twitch under your left eye start to develop. You glared at him and turned to leave. He followed suit. You opened the door and stepped outside into the dusty, dessert like terrain outside of your base. Soldier was still of coarse behind you. 'That's it, I've had enough of this bullshit' you think before you spin around and grab the Soldier by the neck and pin him against a nearby wall. You sneer at him and he actually seems slightly taken back at how sudden the movement was. You may not be able to lift him like he has done to you in the past to bark orders and insults at you, but you can still pin the bastard.
"Why the FUCK have you been following me!?" you spit at him with a harsh growl to your voice. There's no answer from the Soldier. This annoys you further.
"It's been five days and you can't seem to piss off and leave me alone!" You use a finger to poke at his helmet to emphasize your point. You throw him to the ground and set your foot on the side of his face, pressing it further into the orange dust. You lean down as much as you can to get closer to his head.
"So I'll ask ONE more time before I go "team killer" on your ass. Why have you been following me?" You question him again. There's a silence. Then you feel the Soldier moving beneith your foot. It's a jerky, repeated motion. Was he...crying? No. You peer down to see his mouth from under his helmet, plastered with a sly, cocky smirk. He was laughing. The horse, deep sound of his chuckling finally reaches your ears. This both confuses and wrings even more anger from your being. You kick him in the gut and he rolls once before laying on his back in the dust. He brings himself up onto his elbows, still chuckling away. With that smirk on his face he replies.
"Because, I love it when you're pissed off. When you're annoyed and seething mad. It's a good look for you." Soldier was still on the ground laughing when you strode over to him and set your chestnut brown hiking boots on his chest. His chuckling was silence with a stern and wondering stare from you. You kept your arms crossed on your chest.
"So, you like it when i'm MAD? HUH!" You applied more pressure onto his chest, most likely making it harder for him to breathe.
"You like it when i'm ANNOYED? HUH!" You spat towards his face, hitting his helmet with a heavy *tink*. You kept the pressure on his chest with your boot. It was silent untill you snapped and lashed out at him.
"ANSWER ME! Do you find me FUNNY!? Some kinda youngster that has yet to get control of their feelings? TELL ME!?" You scream in his face, leaning as close to his face as you can. It was only a few seconds before the smirk returned and faded in the same second. He muttered out some words. You couldn't tell what he had said.
"What did you just say?" You question with a dangerous tone to your voice. He clears his throat, probably having trouble breathing due to your boot on his chest, and trys again. It comes out more clearly now, much louder.
"Sir, NO Sir!" He barks from under your boot. This sudden outburts of obeidience causes the corners of your mouth to pull up into a sly smirk, nearly identical to the one he had been wearing earlier. You see what he wants. You get his hint. However subtle, or not so subtle, it was. Well then he's going to have to wait. You lift your boot off his chest and allow him to stand up straight. Soldier stands upright infront of you at full attention.
"Oh you sly dog. Well then, meet me in my quarters tonight at 2300 hours. Got it, Soldier!?" You bark out the last words. Soldier salutes.
"Sir, Yes Sir!" He shouts and jogged his way back into the base. A small smile stretched across your face. That sly, caniving little maggot. No matter. Tonight, you will give him a piece of what you can truly do when given full control.
