TF2chan

"Trembling enthusiasm over exposed flesh!"

The Rules #

  1. NO CHILD PORN, and no other illegal content.
  2. NO FURRY SHIT. And no, we will not make a fucking Furry board, you must be fucking joking.
  3. This is an 18+ only site. However, as there is no way to verify the ages of posters, we have to make judgements based on your behaviour. If you act underage, you will get banned, no matter what age you claim to be.

    a. Fanbrat behaviour, i.e., OMG SO KAWAII DESU XDDD, *does action*, “SQUEEEE”, etc., makes you look underage. Don’t do it.

    b. Do not spout memes. Meme-spouting is for kids who want to show their friends they’re cool and edgy because they browse 4chan from school.

    c. Try to keep your spelling and grammar tidy. Do not abuse ellipses or exclamation marks, do not shorten words (e.g. using “u” as opposed to “you”) and learn the difference between “your” and “you’re”, and “their”, “there” and “they’re”. If English is not your first language, say so.

  4. Do not create drama. See a post you don’t like? You’ve got two options:

    a. If it breaks the rules, click the tick-box next to the poster’s name, scroll to the bottom of the page, type a reason in the “Reason” field and then click the “Report” button. Don’t respond to it.

    b. If it doesn’t break the rules but offends your delicate sensibilities, ignore it.

Using the report button is the best way to direct a mod’s attention to any rule-breaking posts. Likewise, if you feel that a thread is in the wrong section, report it, stating this as the reason so we can move it to the right board.

  5. Do not respond to trolls. Seriously. How many times do we have to fucking tell you people DO NOT FUCKING RESPOND TO TROLLS. See rule 4b for the appropriate response to possible trolls.
  6. DO NOT FUCKING RESPOND TO FUCKING TROLLS.

  7. It’s not anime that we hate, it’s weeaboos. Anime is actually pretty cool, but the people who obsess over it and use the art style as a crutch instead of learning real anatomy are obnoxious.

    a. Weeaboo emoticons such as ^__^, o__o or T__T are heavily frowned upon. Your use of emoticons should be kept to a minimum.

  8. TF2chan is not your LiveJournal or deviantArt page. If something happens that upsets you, do not scream and cry about it, just deal with it. The internet is not a hugbox.

    a. Sometimes, people on the internet are mean. This is normal. Giving people a veil of anonymity automatically makes some of them act like assholes. Do not take this personally. See rule 4b for advice about responding to people who upset you.

    b. Sometimes, people on the internet say things that contradict your personal preferences and opinions. This is not the same as being mean. Learn to understand the difference between people being assholes and people having opinions that differ from your own.

    c. When someone has an opinion that differs from your own, do not respond by being an asshole just because you have internet anonymity.

  9. If you have an Original Character (OC), you may not post anything relating to it outside of the Roleplay board.
  10. If you post art or fanfiction, expect to receive constructive criticism. This happens because we like to see people improve their work. It is a good thing.

    a. If you do not feel that you can handle constructive criticism, do not post your art or fic.

    b. If you know your work has room for improvement, post in /workshop/. The people there will be more than happy to offer advice on how to progress.

    c. Do not be offended if your thread gets moved to /workshop/. If your thread getting moved to /workshop/ offends you, consider rules 8b and 10a before responding.

    d. When giving constructive criticism, make sure it is constructive, and helpful to the creator of the work. If you feel that something needs improving, explain how and why to the best of your ability. Do not be needlessly offensive.

  11. Plagiarism of another person’s work (posting another person’s work and claiming it is your own when it is not) is an instant permaban.
  12. Ban-dodging is an instant permaban.
  13. A short 1-day or 3-day ban may be given as a warning to someone breaking these rules. The reason for the warning ban will be stated on the ban page. If you do the same thing that got you banned previously again, your next ban will be longer. Persistent reoffenders will be permabanned.
  14. If you have a question, the moderators are available in Steamchat or IRC. Some moderators have their email addresses on their posts; you may contact these at any time.

    a. Please be respectful in your correspondence as TF2chan’s moderators do not get paid for their work and are managing the boards in their own time.

    b. If you feel that the moderators are acting unreasonably, raise your concerns in a polite, respectful and mature manner. Do not respond to perceived unreasonable behaviour with more unreasonable behaviour.

    c. The moderators will do their best to respond to any queries, but be aware that the boards are used by many people and keeping everyone happy is likely to be impossible. Nevertheless, we will help whenever we are able.

  15. These rules apply to EVERYONE. Whether you post with a tripcode or not, whether you post with a name or not, whether you contribute or not, the rules are the same for every user of the site. No one will be given more leeway than anyone else. If you feel that you or someone else should be privy to some special privileges due to your contributions or standing with the community, go back to LiveJournal and/or deviantArt.
