Not really TF2 related but,

I'm trying to get some addons to work in gmod. The textures work fine, but the models don't (they turn into red errors). I Extracted the files into the addon folder in gmod, I verified gmod through steam.. the textures that were missing work, but not the models. I have no idea why. Suggestions?

I wanted to try my hand at something different, so how about we all play an RPG?
And since it's Demoman December, it'll be from his POV.

I'm not sure how it'll turn out, but I do know it'll be fun!
Help guide Demoman through quests, little missions, and other such grand adventures.

And just for the record, in this setting, there is no 'Red and Blu are enemies' thing, cause there aren't really any defined 'teams' to begin with... and there are going to be other colors too, just so you know!

Alrighty, without further ado, let's begin!

Ey, that didn't go so well.

In the distance, though, he could see the main event about to start.
Might as well- it's about one of the only exciting things that happen in these parts.

Getting a good spot near the front, he watched as their resident wizard (and part-time executioner) set the bonfire alight. The witch let out an almighty screech before being engulfed in flames.

"Splendid!" the town's judge clapped enthusiastically.

The crowd goes wild! Tavish joins in on the cheering, whistling and clapping his hands.

The town's wizard walked away from the pyre, dusting his hands with a job well done.

"That t'was it this day, good folks. Ye perpetrator has been neutralized. Thank you!" The judge announced before he added "Now, if somebody would be kind and bring ye farmer out of yonder pond so we can change him back?"

'Ribbit' is heard somewhere among the people who kept cheering on and clapping their hands.

All of a sudden... something's happening. It's as if the sands of time are shifting.
A random event has been triggered!

What's it going to be, nobody can predict. Some minor change? Or of massive proportions? The dice of destiny rolls...

Suddenly, the sorcerer turned to him. Mumbling, he presented a pouch to Militiaman.

"Oh, yew gott th' brimstone! Thank ye!" Indeed, Tavish asked for a batch of the stuff some time ago. He needed it for his project, and who better to ask the resident wizard who's an expert in all things fiery?

Paying the appropriate sum for the sorcerer's undertaking for him, he then headed back to put the bag in his house for safe-keeping.

Tavish wondered. After he stored the pouch away, should he continue on his hobby immediately, or should he do something else that maybe he'd missed?

[Just so you know, the other outcomes in the random event were either an attack from an invading force, or the Courier showing up with an announcement, or something completely different.]

So I'm new to gmod and want to give stop motion stuff a try.

What do I need to know / important and or useful tools?
>> No. 5134
lots and lots of screenshots and try to make your animation smooth.
you should google animation tricks anyway and stop-motion tutorials.

Hi! Welcome to the Chan!
I've never used GMod before in my life, however, I am very much a 2D animation enthusiast and I can tell you straight off the bat that you'll need to perfect (well, okay... practice) a basic walk cycle before anything else. I've included an image with a few different kinds of walk cycles for your viewing pleasure.
Don't try be a hero on your first go, just take things nice and steady- stop motion puts you in for a long haul, and it's gonna be tedious as hell. Oh and remember, run cycles have a moment in which both feet are in the air, walk cycles don't- that's why they look like completely different motions.

Watch a lot of stop-motion stuff! Raikujo, RubberFruit (ssshhhhh, now, guys) and Kelthuzadmadness are all GMod stop-motion artists I can name off the top of my head. Don't be afraid to take a gander at a few non-stop-motion types, as well. I hear MaxOfS2D whips up a mean short.

Lastly, this isn't something I've learned from using any animation program, but rather from back in high school when I had to compose a piece of music on the computer; DO NOT repetitively view recently completed chunks of animation (or any media, really). Soon each chunk will stick out individually like a sore thumb and they'll start to feel tedious for you to watch (even if your mate thinks it's fantastic). When you've completed a chunk, watch it once, maybe twice if you're unsure, and then either stow it or edit the more glaring flaws.

Err... that's all I can think of. Hope I haven't bored you out of your skull. Enjoy your stay on the chan!

Turns out two days ago someone finally made a proper nude-version of the femme pyro, see the pic attached!

I'll post a download link once it's finished (He's making a blue team version with some frills) once it's done.

This isn't a continuation of the pyro thread, just something I wanted to bring to attention. Please don't start flame wars.

What's Heavy got there besides the Sniper? A Scout pistol, presumably, but the angle makes it look like a piece of piping. Fitting, since the map is plr_pipeline.
